ILD Builder was sentenced to undergo 60 days of simple imprisonment in a contempt of court case. Haryana RERA’s adjudicating official Rajendra Kumar gave the decision hearing the dispute Garima Gupta Vs ILD Millennium Private Limited. It directed the authorities to take Salman Akbar into custody and put him behind the bars for 60 days. On the last day, it asked the officials to produce him before the adjudicating officer.
In January 2013, Garima Gupta booked a unit in ILD Spiregreens project located in Sector 37 of 2013. The builder was supposed to handover the project in July 2016, but failed to keep up his promise to her. Therefore, Garima moved the RERA court in November 2018. The court gave its decision in favour of Garima and asked the builder to pay Rs 27,30,376.
But, the ILD Millennium Private Limited ignored the court directions. In this backdrop, the adjudicating officer asked the police to arrest Salman Akbar before December 21 and produce him before the court. The orders were issued on October 31. In a latest development, the court sentenced Salman to undergo 60 days of simple imprisonment.
