Bollywood Megastar and Big-B Amitab Bachchan has disposed of his ancestral home in South Delhi’s Gulmohar Park – titled Sopaan – for Rs 23 crore. CEO of Nezone Group Avni Badar, who is familiar to Big-B family for over three decades, bought the property. Registration of the property, which measured 418.05 square meters, has been completed on December 7 last year. On several occasions, Amitab mentioned about the family property Sopaan in his blog. The property was registered in the name of Teji Bachchan, Amitab’s mother.
Earlier, Amitab’s parents used to live there. Once Amitab left the house for Mumbai for a career in films, his parents moved out of their South Delhi home. For several years, there were no inhabitants in the house. In this backdrop, Amitab disposed of the property. “It was a very old structure. That is why we will pull down the structure and build new home as per my choice. My family has been living in this area since long. We are looking for an additional property in the area. At that juncture, the offer has been made. Without any second thoughts, the property has been bought,” explains Badar.
