AP 2047 vision: Growth rate @15% per annum

The Chief Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh government, Neerabh Kumar Prasad, stated that they are designing the Swarnandhra @2047 vision plan with the goal of achieving a 15% growth rate per year. The aim is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a developed state by 2047, with a projected economy of $2.4 trillion and a per capita income exceeding $43,000. He mentioned that Andhra Pradesh has a coastline of 974 kilometres, and along with the existing ports, new ports such as Moolapeta, Gangavaram, Ramayapatnam, and Krishnapatnam will soon be available. The Chief Secretary noted that port-based industries are also being established in coastal districts, creating significant opportunities for exports and imports.

He stated that alongside agriculture, the aqua sector is also developing significantly, and therefore, district action plans for a five-year period should be designed with a focus on the blue ocean economy. The Chief Secretary emphasised the importance of addressing government priorities such as zero poverty, ease of living, development of social infrastructure, demographic management, data centres, and artificial intelligence. He instructed district collectors to formulate a five-year vision action plan with special attention to significant local elements, such as Araku coffee. Similarly, he suggested that based on the district plan, mandal-level five-year vision action plans should also be prepared. He highlighted the priority of creating a global high-value agriculture and processing powerhouse, enhancing industry-based skill development, growing as a logistics hub on the eastern coast, and shaping Andhra Pradesh as a centre for industrial and renewable sectors, stating that the Swarnandhra @ 2047 vision document would be developed accordingly.
