Abhay Yojna to benefit property tax payers

The Ulhasnagar municipality broke good news to the residents of the municipal corporation regarding payment of property tax. It is going to implement Abhay Yojna for about a month. Under the Yojna, the tax payers will be offered some relief: Waiver of 100 per cent fine on the tax dues. It would mean the residents would have to pay only the property tax. In fact, the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation gets more revenue only through collection of taxes. Because of Covid-19 and other reasons the property tax collection was not done properly.

As such the civic body is in a position of not able to pay salaries to employees. Authorities of the civic body are of the view to wriggle it out of the situation through the implementation of the Abhay Yojna. The civic authorities are of the view that people living in Ulhasnagar, taking advantage of the waiver, will come forward to pay off the property tax. Several people feel that a similar scheme should be implemented by the GHMC in Hyderabad.
