RRR South section Agency approved for DPR: The tender for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the South section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) has been finalised. A total of five companies submitted bids for the DPR of RRR South part. These companies include Sheladia Associates, Sinec, SA Infra, LU Associates, and RV Associates. The government selected the company that quoted the lowest price. The relevant file has been sent by the Roads and Buildings (R&B) officials to the Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, for approval. Once the Chief Minister approves, the consultant agency that won the tender for the South section of the RRR will reveal the details. The consultant agency is required to submit the report to the government within six months, as per the officials.
Earlier, R&B officials had called for tenders for the DPR of the South section of the Regional Ring Road, but due to a lack of adequate response, the tenders were called again. The Telangana government had previously written to the central government requesting the construction of the RRR South section. When this road was approved, the alignment from Choutuppal to Ameenpur to Sangareddy was determined to be 189 kilometers. Later, the state government decided to construct the South section of RRR, and changes were made to the primary alignment, increasing the road length by an additional 11 kilometers, bringing the total length to 200 kilometers. The tender notice specified that the DPR should be prepared for the entire 200 km stretch. The officials mentioned that the company awarded the tender has been instructed to prepare the DPR in accordance with central government regulations.

It is expected that the Telangana government will give approval for the tender related to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the South section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) in the second week of March. Consequently, the selected agency is expected to complete the RRR South part DPR by September, within six months, and submit it to the Revanth Reddy government, according to officials’ estimates. The comprehensive project report will include various details, such as the road construction methodology, alignment of the road, the construction of vehicle underpasses, road overbridges, crossings, junctions, and the locations for toll plazas. It will also identify if there are any villages or settlements along the route, the number of residents, details of lakes and ponds, agricultural land, forest areas, and other relevant information.
In addition to the land acquisition details for the road construction, the comprehensive project report will also include cost estimates for the construction. The report will assess the best methods for constructing the road in a cost-effective and beneficial manner. Following this, there will be clarity on whether the Telangana government will take up the construction of the South section of the RRR, or if the central government will undertake the project itself. Meanwhile, officials state that it will take another week for the central government to open tenders for the construction of the Northern section of the Regional Ring Road. The central government plans to complete both sections of RRR in the next three years.
