  • Telangana is always ahead in green cover

In order to protect future generations and take environmental changes into account, Telangana state Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao recommended that all builders start concentrating on green structures. He urged builders to learn about contemporary green structures and to use environmentally friendly materials in their construction.

Speaking as the chief guest at the CII IGBC Property Show’s opening event on Friday at Hitex, KTR remarked that buyers should support builders who promote green structures and develop them in a sustainable manner. He commended the CII IGBC for holding Hyderabad’s first-ever green property show. IGBC has been advocating for the importance of green buildings throughout the country since 2001, and he feels happy that they introduced the green movement in Hyderabad. The minister recalled that India was ranked third worldwide in the Green Buildings Register by the IGBC. The fact that the CII IGBC recorded 10.27 billion square feet of green buildings filled him with joy. According to him, the Telangana state government will always give its initiatives its full support.

According to the minister, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has always led the charge to make Telangana a green state. He declared that Telangana is proud to have green factories, residences, airports, train stations, and buildings. “Green building practices are being used in the construction of government buildings. There are 33 new collector buildings, the T-Hub, the command control centre, hospitals, medical schools, and new industrial parks, among others; all are being built using environmentally friendly methods,” he mentioned.

He complimented the CII IGBC for supporting the state’s Haritha Haram programme and stated how green principles are followed in cities like Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Khammam. “In Telangana, out of all the saplings planted, 260 crores have survived in the past eight years,” he asserted. By installing LED lights, he said that they are actively contributing to the greening of the villages. He requested IGBC’s assistance in bringing the Net Zero idea to rural areas. The Minister also brought up the Swachh Badis programme, stating that it was being introduced to help kids understand the value of having a green environment. He recommended that all construction be done in accordance with green principles in order to provide a safe environment for future generations.

IGBC Telangana Chairman C. Shekhar Reddy noted on this occasion that because of Minister KTR’s encouragement, the Telangana Government was able to be a strategic partner for the Green Property Show project. All of the state’s government structures, according to him, are being built using green building techniques. According to him, the R&B division incorporated eco-friendly standards into the actual tender form. Due to this, all future government structures will be constructed using green construction practices. As a result, there will be a decrease in electricity usage. Telangana, according to him, has the distinction of founding India’s first electric transportation sector. He expressed the hope that between 50 and 60 percent of the buildings that will be sold in the upcoming days will be green structures. The IGBC staff is putting a lot of effort into making this property show, which is being done for the first time, a success, he added.

According to Rajesh Kumar, Chief General Manager of SBI, who called this property show a game changer in its segment, SBI has a portfolio of 6.5 lakh crore nationwide. He claimed that Hyderabad alone has a portfolio worth 55,000 crore rupees. He expressed that there are 26 centralised process centres and that NPAs are lower in Hyderabad. He claimed that the borrowers would easily receive interest rate reductions and that the loan approval process would move quickly. He stated that project tie-ups would be completed in five days. “So far, 300 projects and 75 green buildings have inked agreements with us. We are providing an additional five basis point discount to investors in green initiatives,” he stated.

UK Deputy High Commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen, MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, MLC Bhanuprakash, MLA Shanampudi Saidireddy, Mayor Jakka Venkat Reddy, Venkatagiri, Srinivasmurthy, Murali Krishna Reddy, Rajasekhar Reddy, Sunil Chandra Reddy, Vijay Sai, Chalapati Rao, Prabhakar Rao, GV Rao, Indrasena Reddy, and others took part in the event.
