Mumbai Economic Offences Wing recently arrested Neeraj Ved, 54, director of Srinath Developers, and looking for another director and his spouse Swapna Ved who is at large. The arrest was effected following lodging of cheating and criminal breach of trust cases against him. Similar cases were lodged against her too. Case was registered against Neeraj Ved with Tilak nagar Police station for not making payments to the customers last week and entering into the MahaRERA seized flat illegally.
In 2010, Neeraj Ved entered into an agreement for re-development of property located on Vihar Lake Road. He relocated the people living in the building to another place and sold the rest of the flats to others. As per the agreement, he is supposed to build only 13 floors, but he built 16. Therefore, the officials stalled the works on the project. Two persons who bought six flats and a shop for Rs 6.17 crore lodged a complaint against Neeraj for not handing over the flats to them even after the expiry of the deadline. They charged the director with demanding additional money. They mentioned in the complaint that the flat allotted to them was sold to other individuals. A case was registered against Neeraj following lodging of the complaint.
