Telangana RERA Authority clarified

The Telangana RERA Authority has clarified on the issue of extending the deadline for a construction project. It is mandatory for the developers to seek extensions of the deadline, in case of undertaking phase-wise construction or developing additional floors. However, the RERA clarified that the extension will be applicable only to the new phase or constructing of additional floors, but not the entire project. More details are as following.

Pacifica has obtained permission for construction of 19 floors in Gachibowli. According to RERA, the construction should be completed within five years. The company recently decided to build three more additional floors and applied to RERA to extend the deadline. The Telangana RERA Authority has also extended the deadline by an additional two years, taking appropriate fees. Some buyers approached RERA on the same subject, saying it was a five-year deadline and questioned how it could be extended to seven years. Responding to this, the RERA Authority clarified that the enhanced deadline would apply to only three floors and that 19 floors would have to be completed within five years of the stipulated deadline. “In the current scenario where aluminum foam technology is being used to lay two slabs per month, does it take two years to lay three floors? Many buyers are questioning the same.
