48,218 houses to homeless poor in Amaravati

· CRDA clears the project

As part of the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s Navaratnalu-Pedalaku Illu scheme, the CRDA has approved construction of houses for the homeless poor in Amaravati region. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy ordered construction of 48,218 houses for the homeless poor in 20 layouts. He asked the officials to create necessary infrastructure in the layouts for construction of the houses. In the wake of issue of the GO to build homes in Amaravati, the CRDA 33rd meeting held with the Chief Minister in chair took a decision in this regard. In all, 1,134.58 acres have been allotted for 20 layouts.

In all, 48,218 beneficiaries belonging to Guntur and undivided Krishna districts would receive house site pattas free of cost. The government has amended relevant laws to allot house site pattas to beneficiaries in Inavolu, Mandadam, Krishnayapalem, Navuluru, Kuragallu and Nidamanuru areas. Under Section 41 (3 & 4) of the CRDA Act, R-5 zone has been created and lands identified for the ventures have been brought under it. In October last year, the CRDA invited objections to this at a public opinion gathering exercise. Later, it issued a gazette notification
