Telangana state Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has responded to complaints that some lower-level officials are engaging in corruption by extorting money under the name of HYDRA in Hyderabad. It has come to light that, based on past notices and complaints from two to three years ago, some revenue, municipal, and irrigation officials are demanding money in certain places. The Chief Minister has warned that such officials will face action.
He has instructed ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) and vigilance officials to focus on those involved in such extortion activities. Additionally, there is information that some individuals are extorting amounts ranging from Rs 700 to Rs 1,000 per square foot from illegal constructions in the Ayyappa Society area of Madhapur.
