Even though the people of Telangana rejected the BRS government in the third election, the respective governments have written firm plans for the development of Hyderabad. They had a clear view of the city’s development. So, will the newly formed Congress government implement the BRS plans as usual? Or will it go ahead with new strategies?
Looking back, the YSR government has implemented the plans of the TDP in Andhra Pradesh. Later, Kiran Kumar Reddy followed in the footsteps of Congress. The BRS government, which came to power after the emergence of a separate Telangana state, continued the development of Hyderabad as usual. After 2018, they took it to the next level. Will the recently formed Congress government continue the BRS’ plans? Or plan new plans? Is this the question of the hour in the Telangana real estate sector? In particular, the BRS government had clear plans for the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. Former CM KCR, when he was in power, started the second phase of metro train works from Raidurgam to Shamshabad Airport. Former IT minister KTR explained the subsequent phases on several occasions. Will the new government continue the metro rail project? Many are doubtful about it. Therefore, there is a need for the Congress government to reveal a clear policy about this project.
It is known that HMDA conducted auctions in Kokapet and Budvel. Will the new government continue the auctions like the previous government? Or instead of auctioning the lands in those areas, will it build affordable luxury houses for the middle-class public? Clarity should be given about the topic.
The previous government’s plan was to connect the 332-kilometre Regional Ring Road with the outer ring road and the Inner Ring Road, similar to Beijing in China. CM Revanth Reddy said in the election campaign that he will establish urban Telangana policy up to the Outer Ring Road, semi-urban policy from ORR to the Regional Ring Road, and rural policies from there to the Telangana border. The construction sector feels that it would be better if a clear policy were established in this regard.
Having said this, will the Congress government continue with the policies introduced by the BRS government or plan their own? is the burning question. These details must be revealed soon.
