RERA has delivered a stern blow to a developer for developing a township without registering it. A fine of Rs 1 crore has been imposed for violating regulations. Real Line Properties launched a villa and apartment project called Lifeline Green City in Pantheerankavu Perumanna village panchayat in Kozhikode, Kerala. However, the developer was advertising the project on social media for sales without registering it with RERA. Kerala RERA issued notices to the company demanding an explanation. Subsequently, a fine of Rs 1 crore was levied under Section 59(1) of the RERA Act.
The company has been instructed to register the project with RERA within 30 days of receiving the order. Additionally, RERA has directed the village panchayat secretary to issue a stop memo halting ongoing construction activities violating RERA laws until registration is completed. The Kozhikode district registrar has also been advised to suspend Aadhaar registrations related to the project.
