Sanitation standards have increased in Telangana’s urban areas. The performance of urban local bodies has improved considerably. The government has developed lot of infrastructure like construction of integrated veg and non-veg markets, construction of large number of public toilets, conversion of crematoriums into Vaikuntadhamams with modern facilities. As a result recently, the Centre announced several awards in the category of best performing cities and towns. Telangana performed best with 26 awards. Telangana bagged 75 percent of the awards given to Southern States by the Union government.
* Ecological balance remains a priority for the State government. According to the Forest Survey of India, green cover has increased by 7.7 percent in Telangana. Hyderabad has been recognised as Tree City of the World. Further, the State government has taken many measures for the development of industrial and IT sectors. Telangana attracted more than Rs 3.31 lakh crore worth investments in the industrial and IT sectors in the last eight and a half years. There is a 140 percent increase in recruitment of IT employees in the State.
* Telangana State government is developing economically. The State revenue has increased from Rs 62,000 crore in 2014-15, to Rs 1.84 lakh crore in 2021. Similarly, the per capita income in 2014 was Rs 1,24,104 which increased to Rs 3,17,115 by 2022-03.
* Telangana is famous as the State which provides uninterrupted power in the country. This is a strong indicator of the amazing progress achieved by the State. In 2014, the installed power capacity of the State was only 7,778 MW which shot up to 18,453 MW during 2022-23.
Telangana government has put an end to drinking water woes. With effective implementation of Mission Bhagiratha, safe drinking water is being supplied to 100 percent of the habitations in the State. The Union Jal Shakti Ministry announced in the Parliament that the fluoride problem in the affected districts has been completely eradicated.
