RERA has imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on Nebula Avaas for the delay in refunding the customer. A person named Ramakrishna had booked a flat in a project undertaken by Avaas and paid Rs 8,06,675 from December 2016 to July 2020. However, due to difficulties in obtaining a home loan, he cancelled his booking in January 2021. Despite repeated requests, the builder only refunded Rs 5,67,656, and that too after a year and a half.
Upon seeking assistance from RERA, it was ordered that the refunded amount be paid along with interest, and that the remaining amount, after deducting the booking amount, should be refunded immediately with interest.
