- CM KCR at the inauguration Mallanna Sagar
What was the price of land in Telangana seven years ago and what is the current price of the same land, CM KCR questioned the people who attended the inauguration of Mallanna Sagar reservoir recently. Speaking on the occassion, he explained about the rising land prices and many other interesting things about State development. In his own words:
An acre land on the roadside in Telangana is worth Rs 1 crore and if it along the Rajiv Rahadari, it is costing Rs 2-4 crore per acre, CM KCR said. He stated that farmers in Telangana were not ready to sell their land for a loss anywhere in the State where the land prices were no less than Rs 20-30 lakh per acre even in remote areas. Instead, they are quoting Rs 50 lakh per acre in case of anyone approaching them.
He said farmers in Telangana were getting an opportunity to become rich and they should not be prevented under any circumstances. In the IT sector, Hyderabad is ranked second in the country after Bengaluru, with IT exports worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore. The Shamshabad Airport is handling around 580 flights everyday. He explained that many more investments are coming to the State.
Rs 1,500 crore for tourism development
CM KCR directed the officials to develop a second four-lane road to Mallanna Sagar. “We are allocating Rs 1,500 crore to develop tourism in areas like Annapurna Reservoir, Ranganaayaka Sagar, Mallanna Sagar, Kondapochamma Sagar, Baswapur reservoir and Vanadurgamatha project,” he said. He wanted the officials to develop tourism spots such that even the Bollywood film industry would come to these areas for film shooting. He wanted about 600 acres of land near Mallanna Sagar along with islands in the middle of the reservoir and also another 7,500 acres of forest abutting the reservoir, all of which are in close proximity to Hyderabad, to be developed into a tourist haven.
