Rize builder’s negligence kills 7!

  • Seven workers died after a wall collapsed in Bachupally.
  • People allege negligence by the construction company leading to this mishap.
  • Rize Constructions MD Venkanna Arvind Reddy was arrested
  • Precautions to be taken to avoid such incidents in the future
  • Construction authorities must form rules.

Rize Developers MD Venkanna Arvind Reddy’s negligence and greed to earn more money ended up taking the lives of seven innocent people, including a four-year-old in the city.

People who are working there come from poor economic backgrounds to feed themselves and their families at least two meals a day. Some of those who are working without even caring about the scorching summer heat have fallen victim to the construction company’s negligence. The retaining wall designed without proper planning by the engineers of the Rize company collapsed, leading to seven deaths. The police have arrested MD Venkanna Arvind Reddy, who is responsible for the deaths of seven people.

However, he was soon released on bail. But will the lives of the gone be brought back? No! Hence, builders who are constructing apartments, multi-story buildings, and skyscrapers in Hyderabad should take strict measures regarding the safety of the construction workers. All the construction authorities and societies should discuss the strict actions to be taken to prevent such accidents from happening in the future. Some important decisions have to be made.

A five-story apartment is being constructed by Rize Constructions in Renuka Ellamma Colony, Bachupally. For this, a retaining wall was built around the apartment. The families of the labourers live in the sheet sheds set up along the wall. On Tuesday evening, due to the rain, the wall collapsed and fell on the sheds. As a result, seven people, including a four-year-old child, lost their lives. Seven others were injured. Some witnessed the wall collapsing and petals falling on the sheds.

The area was echoed with the screams of those trapped under the rubble. But as the wall was too high, the debris could not be removed immediately. By the time rescue operations began, seven lives had been lost. Allegations are pouring in that the negligence of the construction company was the cause of the incident.

Eyewitnesses say that Rize developers first built this retaining wall at a height of 15 feet. Later, it was increased to 30 feet. Although the height increased, the thickness was less. It is said that it collapsed due to the lack of a proper base for that height. Many are questioning the structural engineers and civil engineers of this organisation for their careless behaviour.

GHMC should cancel the building license of the MD’s company responsible for this incident. Similarly, people want action to be taken against the engineers responsible for this. It is said that only then, from now on, will every builder undertake construction carefully.
