Incensed over not honouring its directions intentionally, the Gujarat RERA ordered the police to take into custody Pacifica Developers MD and three others of the group – Darpan Tarwani, Kaushik Patel and Jaya Chandani – for 30 days to question them. The RERA took the decision as the developer violated its order of handing over a particular flat to the customer and instead it sold the flat to another customer.
The Pacifica Developers Private Limited launched a real estate project called Reflections in Khoraj area of Gandhi Nagar. In November 2012, Rachana Sarma who lives in Muscat booked a flat paying Rs 56.67 lakh. Initially, she paid Rs 9.82 lakh towards various charges. Later, in July 2014, she entered into an agreement. She paid Rs 15.24 lakh in cash (which is yet to be proved) and Rs 41.43 lakh through bank to the builder, who is supposed to handover the flat by October of 201 5. But, the developer did not do so forcing Rachana Sarma to approach the RERA. The Gujarat RERA has asked the builder to handover the flat in 30 days after collecting Rs 18.69 lakh from her. Sarma paid the amount, but the developer cancelled her flat booking and allotted the same flat to Lalita Patel. Sarma took it to the notice of the RERA, which ordered taking into custody four officials of the realty group?
The Pacifica Developers is executing various projects in Hyderabad too. Several have complained to Telangana RERA about facing problems from the developer. One has to adopt a wait-and-watch attitude for some more time to know the response of the RERA to their complaints.
