Acting on a complaint lodged with the police against a builder for constructing a building encroaching on tank bed land, the police served a legal notice on the builder.
Jigani City Municipal Council chief executive officer Rajesh lodged a complaint with the police on December 10 that a builder encroached on the bed of the Hennagara tank, violating the Karnataka Land Revenue (Amendment) Act 2007. The police lodged an FIR against the builder and served legal notice on the builder, asking him to hand over the relevant documents to enable them to investigate the complaint. The police said that they had received a complaint that the builder had been dumping soil in the tank bed for the past several weeks without having the necessary approvals.
