The Suchir India Silver Sands Association recently conducted Haritaharam programme in Muttangi, near Hyderabad. The flat owners planted saplings in their flats as part of their social responsibility. In fact, many people buy flats but would not bother to take care of them. On many occasions, there will be wild growth of bushes in the plots. The association felt that annually if saplings are planted on the plots, it would create a pleasant atmosphere. That is why, the association launched the programme.
The association president, G Srinivas, said that it would be very good for the people’s health if they send their week-ends among sylvan surroundings. The association asked the flat owners to take part in the programme on a war-footing. The association thanked the HMDA urban forestry department for giving it over 2000 saplings free of cost. The Silver Sands Association core committee members Pulla Reddy, Sri Kant and Naga Deep and others took part in the programme.
