One lakh houses remained unsold

The inventory of unsold houses is on the rise in Hyderabad market. During the April-June quarter of this year, over one-lakh houses remained unsold in the market. The number of unsold houses during the quarter is up by 5% to cross 99,999 units, according to a report from the Prop Equity. At the same time, the number of housing units sold across nine cities of the country is put at 1, 22,213. On the whole the number of unsold houses inventory came down, the report said.

The number of unsold housing units was down by 2% to reach 5, 15,169. Their number was put at 5, 26,914 at the end of the quarter ending March. Among the Tier-1 cities, the maximum number of housing units remained sold was in Thane, constituting 21% of the total unsold units (1, 07,179). However, the number of unsold housing units in Thane at the end of the quarter ending March was 1, 09,511. Thus, the inventory of unsold units in Thane decreased by 2%.

With regard to the Mumbai, the number of housing units was down by 3% (60,911) compared to the no of unsold units prevailed at the end of the quarter ending March (62,735). However, Navi Mumbai begs to differ as the inventory of unsold housing units has increased from 31,735 to 32,997. The number of unsold housing units in Delhi was down by 26 per cent to settle at 42,133. The inventory was down by 18 per cent in Chennai to settle at 19,900 units. But, in Pune the situation was totally different. The number of unsold housing units increased by 9% to reach 75,905 units. The number of unsold houses in Bangalore increased by 4% to reach 52,208-mark. However, the inventory has increased by 20% to put the number of unsold houses at 21,947.
