The construction of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), which is set to be another jewel for Telangana, is progressing rapidly with action from both the central and state governments. After conducting three types of surveys, a final alignment was decided for the RRR. While things have been going smoothly so far, locals are expressing concerns over the proposed land in two areas, where construction permits for houses have not been granted. Currently, around 2,000 people are waiting for approval to build their homes. Some have gone ahead with construction anyway, leading authorities to issue notices for illegal constructions.
Authorities are pressuring locals to regularize their buildings under the LRS (Layout Regularisation Scheme). This situation is prevalent in the municipalities of Narsapur and Toopran, as well as in the respective village panchayats.
In the past, a survey was conducted for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) in the Narsapur Municipality area, starting from the vicinity of Rustumpet Kaman on the Sangareddy road, passing through Sitarampur and Gokul Colony on the Medak road, and continuing until Khandasari Sugar Factory on the Veldurthi road. Boundaries were also set up in these areas.
In the second survey, areas like Brahmanpally, Nagsunpally, and Pilliutla in the Narsapur, Shiwampet, and Kodipalli mandals were surveyed. Later, in the third survey, these areas were left aside, and it was announced that the RRR would be constructed near Reddipalli. Despite this, authorities are not granting permission for house construction in the other two alignment areas. Locals are complaining that the authorities have failed to denotify these areas online as per the HMDA’s requirement, and they are not paying attention to the issue.
