Beneficiaries are expressing concern over the lack of basic amenities in the double-bedroom houses constructed by the previous BRS government for the poor in Dammaiguda, Hyderabad. Although the construction of these houses is in the final stages, they report that essential amenities are missing. Nearly 4,000 families are set to move into these houses soon. However, beneficiaries are distressed by the absence of basic facilities such as drinking water, electricity supply connections, and nearby healthcare centres.
In this context, they are requesting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to pay attention to their issues and resolve them immediately. They question why, despite the construction of these double-bedroom houses, no one has addressed the provision of essential amenities such as drinking water. They specifically mention the lack of adequate medical facilities within the Dammaiguda municipality area, as well as the absence of schools, colleges, and proper transportation facilities.
Currently, around 2,000 families are residing in the vicinity, with nearly 4,000 families expected to move into the double-bedroom colony soon. Beneficiaries state that they had requested the provision of basic amenities when construction began in 2016, but no one responded. Although a Basti clinic was inaugurated last year, it does not offer treatment for all types of illnesses. They also highlight that there is only one government school, which lacks proper facilities.
With the need to move into the new houses within this month, beneficiaries are distressed about how they will manage without even basic amenities. They have submitted a petition to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, requesting a resolution to their problems.
