Modern technology becomes more accessible

Hyderabad: Construction of a 13-storey building has become facile thanks to the modern technology, especially the pre-engineered building technology. In fact, these concrete panels manufactured in factories are assembled on site to build a home.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that there is a feasibility of constructing houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in less than a year with the help of the modern technology. In fact, 66 per cent of the 6,368 finished houses under the scheme have been built using the latest technology. The walls and others panels that are made in factories have been assembled on site to complete execution of a house.

The panels used to build homes in Agartala, Lucknow, Rajkot and other areas have been manufactured in Indore, Bhopal, Bhilai and Pune. To facilitate assembling of such houses on-site, panels are being manufactured even in Hyderabad. Multi-storey structures developed using the modern technology were Completed in less than a year.

In Rajkot, using monolithic concrete construction technology of France the building panels are being made. The factory in Lucknow is using Canadian technology. The US and Finnish technology is being employed in the factory at Chennai to make the panels. The factory at Ranchi has adopted German 3-D technology. Instead of building the whole structure, first each room would be built. Using the New Zealand’s steel frames, apartments are being built in Agartala so that they will be able to withstand earth quakes. Construction of homes using overseas technology in the country should be welcomed.
