Minister Sridhar Babu Debunks Real Estate Slowdown Claims

RegNews, Hyderabad, June 21: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Sri Duddilla Sridhar Babu firmly dismissed claims of a real estate slowdown under the Congress-led government, calling them “false propaganda by vested interests.” Speaking at the inauguration of the Property Expo 2025 at HITEX Exhibition Center on Saturday, the Minister cited robust growth data to back his rebuttal. “Some vested interests are deliberately spreading false propaganda. I urge them to open their eyes and look at the actual data,” Sridhar Babu said during his keynote address.
Sector Performance Defies Rumors
Backing his claims with official figures, the Minister highlighted the following key indicators from the financial year 2024–25: Real Estate and Professional Services recorded a 15.4% growth rate Construction sector grew by 11.97%, contributing nearly ₹80,000 crore to the state’s economy Real estate contributes 24.9% to Telangana’s service sector A total of 9,744 projects are currently registered under RERA “These are not mere numbers — they are a factual rebuttal to those falsely claiming that the sector is slowing down under our administration,” he stated.
Market Momentum in Hyderabad
Citing the latest Knight Frank India report, Sridhar Babu noted: 5,900 housing units were registered in February 2025 alone in Hyderabad Properties valued above ₹1 crore made up 18% of all registrations The premium housing segment saw a 58% year-on-year growth
Indiramma Housing and Skilling Initiatives
The Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to affordable housing through the Indiramma Housing Scheme, revealing that 4.16 lakh houses have already been sanctioned in the first phase.

“This initiative reflects our resolve to ensure that every family lives with dignity,” he said. On employment and capacity-building in the sector, he emphasized the role of the Young India Skills University, which is skilling Telangana’s youth for future opportunities in construction and allied industries.

Concluding his remarks, Sridhar Babu extended the government’s full support to developers and homebuyers: “I want to convey a clear message from this platform the government stands firmly with you. Dispel any doubts. Step forward with confidence.” The event saw the presence of MLAs Arekapudi Gandhi, Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, CREDAI President Jaideep Reddy, and several other dignitaries and industry stakeholders.
