Telangana in second place by Area

Maharashtra ranks first in green real estate projects, with Uttar Pradesh in second place. Maharashtra has secured the top position with 1,094 green projects due to its incentives for sustainable buildings. Uttar Pradesh ranks second with 643 projects, while Gujarat holds the third place with 590 projects, according to a Savills India report. Telangana is in fourth place with 519 projects. Karnataka is fifth with 501 projects, Tamil Nadu sixth with 495 green projects, and Haryana seventh with 450 projects. Delhi is in the 14th position with 242 green projects.

In terms of area, Maharashtra is also at the top, with 0.37 million square feet of green building space. Telangana is in second place with 0.36 million square feet. The report indicates that the top 15 states and union territories collectively have over 7,000 IGBC green certified projects. The report attributes Maharashtra’s leading position in green projects to the policies implemented by its government. The Maharashtra government supports green initiatives by offering additional incentives, such as a 3% extra floor area ratio for Silver-rated, 5% for Gold-rated, and 7% for Platinum-rated IGBC certified buildings. Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat also provide a 50% reimbursement on IGBC certification fees.
