Maharashtra RERA serve notice to 18000 builders

Show-cause notices will be served on 18000 builders across the country for their fault of not updating the project details on quarterly basis as required under Section 11 of the RERA Act. The Maharashtra RERA serviced show-cause notices on 2000 builders till January 10. The rest will receive the notices by January-end.

It will issue notices to over 18000 builders soon. An official of the Maharashtra RERA who wished to remain anonymous said that first the RERA sent auto-generated e-mails asking them to update the project details, but the builders did not respond. That is why the RERA will soon serve notices on them. The builders would have to respond within a month of receiving the notices. Majority of these projects are located in Pune, Thane, Mumbai and Nagpur.
