Telugu superstar Kajal Aggarwal has evaluated so many trips across the world and seen so many homes but she supposes, “You can never take out the financial centre out of me. I was born here. My place is always like a meeting pad! Every big celebration that I can recall is celebrated here.”
Sleek lines is how she likes her living room! “Half made, half bought is how I decorated my living room. Simplicity always comes to my mind. There are some furnitures that’s exclusively made by me! It’s safe to say a feeling of calm comes in my living room. I have used utility based pieces, my centre table opens up. Achieving this look is more intentional.” Another room leads to her meeting space — “It’s for my story narrations. There is a library that I have made which keeps me connected so well. A custom made rug, or a carpet piece made by Jaipur artisanal is my favourite style statement here. Everything should be aesthetically appealing.”
After all, it can mean the difference between a room that’s just another place to work and a space where creativity and collaboration take on life for Kajal. “I have a hand-painted linen that’s sandwiched between two pieces of glass. It’s non-openable and backlit and as soon as the lights are switched on the gold embellishments of nandi stands out.
I also love brick! For my brick wall, intentionally made the other walls colored white for it to stand out. That wall is my star piece.” She also has a functional bar, “Staying in and mixing up fun cocktails in her living room is the best way to spend a Friday night. There is a metal and glass table which opens up. And golden glazes on my flooring. I live a very hard life, frankly. Work is my addiction and my home is becoming a holiday space for me day my day. After a hectic day at shoot, I so look forward to my chai sessions. I wake up to banging vessels, my house staff and blaring music — as funny as it may sound but this is my home. Trying to achieve the right balance of form and function has its challenges. Regardless of that she did it!
