Skyscrapers are mushrooming up everywhere in Western Hyderabad. The number of new villa projects is also on the rise. The number of people building new hotels, IT complexes, restaurants and hospitals too is increasing. In addition, the Municipal Department has initiated a special Traffic Impact Assessment Policy to assess the impact on traffic due to increasing infrastructural development. The policy will be ready within a month. Any new structures in future, will be approved based on this new policy, hereafter. A similar policy is already in place in countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. This will enable the city to develop in a planned manner and enable the Planning department authorities to decide which structures can be approved. In addition, developers will undertake new constructions based on this new policy. Overall, Hyderabad is likely to be developed in a planned manner on the lines of Hong Kong city.
