Huma Qureshi doesn’t like  intimidating work-spaces

Giving your workspace a makeover can be a sure shot way of reclaiming some of your motivation and Huma Qureshi likes to work out of a designated space that helps her focus, spruce up her office with design inspiration from the likes of celebrity interior designer Rupin Suchak.

“Huma and I exchanged a few references for the look and feel of the space. Not to my surprise, the length of creativity that we shared matched perfectly and she knew what she did not want more than what she wanted! Her inspiration was almost something that was not intimidating and that was her agenda, it was slightly Bohemian with a heavy character of textures playing across the space and beautiful prints running through the space.”

The office has become a must-have feature in the times we are living in, and now Huma also have a space that is guaranteed to inspire you. We hear, “Huma chose a workspace which had the most sunlight. A space which was comfortable yet creative. The room is artistic with subtle distress on the walls paired with poetic murals!”

Huma and his interior designer wanted the experience of the office to stand out immediately as one sees it from the outside. So, they were eager to bring a sense of eagerness for the visitor to quickly walk inside and see what is happening inside. Her interior designer Rupin had the riches of being a communication designer and having the right knowledge of design that helped him to bring out the narrative. From crazy wall frames to a super old abandoned ship miniature to a mirror with a wacky write-up and a slogan as per the needs of Huma and brother, the space was fully personalised. “The prints on the chairs and furniture were treated in detail. Since the entire assignment was just a 1 1/2 day affair for the designer to curate stuff that was purchased immediately from restored warehouses or redundant and eliminated junkyards, the process had to be very hands-on and exploratory and that’s exactly the designer’s style of work too. They went all out in terms of space and Rupin gave all his heart. Every piece of curated art or furniture screams Huma’s style, that’s the fun. They are wary of picking up stuff from showrooms and parking it their space. Something needs to move both the duo creatively for that to happen.”

Craving for a sleek, stylish office — now Huma Qureshi has near design, classic furniture, warm lighting all at one place. “The desk space consists of a couch, two chairs and a working desk. The whole affair had to be artistic and informal. She wanted to bring the depth of all the characters that she has played into this space and portray something which showed that there were layers in it.
Materials like birch ply finish combined with printed tiles with a bay window were used for it.” Moving ahead, “The space has distinct spaces for everyone. The space includes a reception, a conference room, a corridor that leads to the main cabin and the writer’s cabin. Being a production office, there is a cabin for the producers/executive producers to handle atleast three projects simultaneously.”Revamping her work space with simple deco tips that creates her own calm hideaway, for Huma it  doesn’t matter what her style is, but you’ll definitely find some great ideas. “Huma needed a space where she could use her creative abilities to her highest potential. She got a space which had art and depth just like the roles that she has played in her films. Everything that one can think of in terms of challenges came while executing the space.
The first challenge was time itself, and the second challenge was for a project of the scale to be executed in that time frame. But her designer’s team worked only nine hours. It’s a classic case of master management where everybody in the team was assigned a certain job that needs to be completed within 24 hours for the second level of
the job to take shape. For every action that happened from day one, what is the master slide for the following actions decided — there was a lot of revamping of stuff that had to be imagined and even the design do not like to leave spaces open. Both of them likes to give a lot of petitions so doing that massive construction in the space given with other corporate offices working in the same premise
was a big challenge. There were constant quarrels with people around because they would not stop as we had that timeline!”Huma’s office is more casual and informal. It’s a space for creative minds to brainstorm and get their creative juices flowing. She has spaces for people who handle projects where at least three
projects can run simultaneously and comfortably in the most organized way. A place for a writer as well as a conference room! There is ample space for everyone to work comfortably as well as channel their creativity In the correct direction!
