In Telangana, the Congress government has embarked upon the task of revitalising revenue streams after assuming power. As part of this initiative, the Revanth Reddy government has decided to enhance the market values of lands across the state. They have already begun operations by determining rates for revenue, stamps, and registration departments. Measures are underway to assess the current values of lands and fixed assets at the field level.
A study is being conducted on why old values were revised and new ones introduced. The Revanth government has decided to increase market values of agricultural lands, non-agricultural lands, and other fixed assets by 30 to 60 percent in the state. Along with the market values of lands and fixed assets, the Telangana government has decided to increase registration charges. Currently, registration charges stand at 7.5%. There is a chance for it to rise by 0.5%.
