The Gujarat High Court has ordered taking stern action against 26 high-rise commercial buildings for their failure to obtain NOC from the fire department. It ordered the Ahmadabad Municipal Corporation to seize the buildings if necessary. Similarly, the court sought action against 1,128 residential buildings and 259 high-rise buildings. It asked the civic body to take action within two weeks and submit a report to the court before June 30. A survey undertaken by the government taking a sample of 2160 buildings, it was found out that 1833 buildings have violated rules. The high court has ordered the state government to find a solution to the problem in five weeks.
