Revealed in State Budget
The Telangana state government is contemplating the construction of satellite townships on the outskirts of Hyderabad. This decision, outlined in the budget, aims to alleviate the pressure on the city of Hyderabad.
Large industries and IT companies around Hyderabad employ millions of people. Many of these employees commute daily to Hyderabad from various regions. The proposed townships are expected to benefit such commuters by reducing traffic congestion in the city and saving time. Additionally, the surrounding areas will be developed into self-sustaining regions.
The government plans to promote the construction of affordable housing for the poor and middle class in these satellite townships. They will include parks, community halls, commercial areas, and schools.
