GHMC Commissioner Amrapali warns

Strict Actions for Non-Compliance

Since taking on the role of Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, IAS officer Amrapali has been working dynamically. She conducts surprise inspections in the city regularly and inquires about civic issues related to sanitation from citizens. Recently, she became serious about the issue of parking.

Amrapali, along with officials, recently inspected several theatres and multiplexes in the city. She identified illegal parking fee collections from customers in theatres on RTC X Roads, Kukatpally, and Secunderabad.

The Commissioner noted that some theatres, which had permissions for single screens, were operating three or four screens. GHMC officials have issued notices to the management of these theatres and multiplexes. She warned that any future illegal parking fee collections or provision of substandard food items in theatres and multiplexes will lead to strict actions. She also instructed that no parking fees should be collected for the first 30 minutes in multiplexes, single-screen theatres, and large shopping malls.

GHMC field survey begins

As part of the GIS mapping, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has initiated a field survey of properties and other structures within its jurisdiction. The survey has started in areas such as Uppal, Hayatnagar, Hydernagar, Kukatpally, KPHB Colony, Miyapur, and Chandanagar circles, and will gradually expand to other parts of the city.

During the survey, property owners are required to provide details to the visiting staff, including building permits, occupancy certificates, recently paid property tax receipts, water bills, electricity bills, owner identification cards, and trade license numbers for commercial buildings. GHMC will keep this information confidential.
