Dharani portal, which completed two years of successful operation as on November 2 this year, is described as a citizen-friendly, tamper-proof, online portal in revenue administration that provides service to the people without any discrimination. It is hailed as one-stop solution to land deals. Ever since its launch on Nov 2, 2020, it emerged as a trend-setter in land administration. Even today, many farmers have been facing problems across Telangana with the land issues. However, the Government of Telangana claims that Dharani portal is a super hit solution to the land problems.
Prior to launch of Dharani, agricultural land registration was done in only 141 sub-registrar offices in the state. But after the portal’s launch, agricultural land is being registered in 574 Tahsildar offices too. The land registration services reached the door-step of the people. After registering the land, even mutations were also carried out. At the same time, e-pattadar passbooks have been generated and relevant information is related to SMSes to the concerned parties.
Within a week of registering agricultural land, pattadar passbook that has 18 security features will be given to the concerned party. The portal received the maximum number of 9.16 hits. It completed 26 lakh transactions successfully. The portal is also useful in resolving the chronic problems related to agriculture lands. Prior to launch of Dharani, 2.97-lakh registrations of agricultural land were carried out, but not the mutations. Dharani portal, soon after its launch, resolved the problem. It helped the state government resolve 3.16 lakh land disputes. So far, with the help of the portal 11.24 lakh transactions have been completed. It also registered 2.81-lakh gift deeds too. It handed down succession rights to 1.80 lakh persons.
The farmers are jubilant as Dharani set new standards in land administration and feel that their lands are safe because of the portal. The state has 1.54 crore acres of agricultural land divided among 70 lakh pattadars. All these farmers are able to access the input subsidy scheme Rytu Bandhu without any hiccups. The portal facilitates easy conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural land, paving the way for industrial development of the state. There is no doubt that the Dharani portal will become a torch-bearer for many other states in the country.
