(King Johnson Koyyada)Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has warned that individuals, companies and developers who carry out UDS and pre launch sales in violation of RERA rules, will be severely punished and criminal action will be taken against them. On Friday evening, he held a special meeting with representatives of CREDAI Hyderabad, CREDAI Telangana, TREDA, TBF, NAREDCO West Zone and other builders associations.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that everyone who takes up layouts and constructs apartments in the State must strictly abide by the RERA rules. The government has decided to monitor the UDS and prelaunch sales being advertised widely on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. CREDAI will pay special attention to raising awareness among the public to purchase properties only in the RERA-approved projects. A special campaign will be taken up by CREDAI in collaboration with the Municipal Administration, Registrations and I&PR (Information and Public Relations) departments, to create awareness and thus, prevent the people from falling into the trap of fraudulent builders.
* CREDAI, TREDA, TBF and other developers associations appealed to the State government that due to a surge in UDS and pre launch schemes, the sales in several RERA-approved projects in Hyderabad have been declining significantly in recent times. They convened a press conference to convey the same to the people. In recent times, CREDAI Hyderabad and other construction associations in the State have also held a special meeting with the bigwigs of the construction sector and discuss the measures to be taken to prevent a NCR (National Capital Region) like situation in Hyderabad. As part of this process, it was decided to assess the severity of the problem and bring it to the attention of the government once again. It was also decided that all the construction associations should work together to put curbs on UDS/pre launch sales and streamline the construction sector.
* To this effect, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar convened a meeting with the representatives of the construction associations and decided to set up an expert committee to address the issue. The representatives from the Town Planning and Registration department, as well as individuals from CREDAI, will be members of this committee. The meeting, which lasted for about two hours, was attended by Additional DG Jitender, Stamps and Registrations Commissioner and Inspector General Seshadri, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, CCP Devender Reddy, Planning Director Balakrishna, DTCP Director Kommu Vidyadhar and the representatives of various builders associations.
