Construction of a building is one thing and disposing of construction debris at a remote place from the city is another thing. In fact, it is a big head-ache to dispose of the debris. To check all these problems, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation set up a 24-hour control room with a helpline number – 8551058080.
A call placed on the helpline number will see to it that the sanitation staff swing into action and immediately clear the debris. However, at the time of construction of the house, a stipulated amount should be paid to the civic body. The debris that is lying unlifted on the roadside and the debris deposited in the open plots will be taken care of by the civic body provided anyone lodges a complaint over the helpline with the civic body.
Aurangabad Municipal Corporation Administrator Astik Kumar Pandey has said that the civic body clears the debris within two hours of lodging the complaint. Special vehicles and staff members are deployed to clear the debris. All calls routed to the control room will be resolved according to a system with documenting the call details. Heavy vehicles and mini vehicles will be deployed to clear the debris, he added.
