UP government changes floor area ratio rules.
The UP government made a crucial decision by changing the floor area ratio. Until then, the builders used to add additional floors to an existing building without securing any approvals. Later, they would apply to the government to get their illegal structure regularised.
Of late, such illegal constructions have increased in the National Capital Region of Delhi too.
The UP government made it clear that such illegal constructions would not be spared hereafter and would be razed to the ground. The UP government took the decision following complaints received from many that the builders are violating the building approval plans and raising additional floors without getting necessary approvals.
The UP government insists that the builders should first obtain necessary approvals and then build additional floors.
