To fulfil the dreams of owning a roof over their heads by the urban poor and middle classless, the BJP-led Union Government is going to initiate series of measures, including concession on the interest on housing loans. According to reliable sources, the guidelines pertaining to the scheme have been finalized. While addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to bring out a new scheme on interest subsidy for urban poor.
“Owning a house is the dream of the middle classes. To benefit the families living in rented houses in urban areas, a interest subsidy scheme will be launched soon to benefit them to the tune of several lakhs of rupees, declared Modi. As the modalities of the scheme have been finalised, the Centre is likely to announce the scheme shortly. The new scheme is going to be continuation of the Pradhana Mantri Awaas Yojna, according to officials.
