In construction of flats in Hyderabad, the technique employed is called aluminum foam work. It is also called Mivan frame work or Mivan shuttering. To complete the civil works pertaining to a flat, it would at least take three or four months, which includes 15 days for shuttering work another 15 days for removing shutters after having laid the slab.
Digging conduits in walls for laying electrical pipes, closing them and plastering works and external plastering are all time consuming task. Under Mivan shuttering method, the walls would be built using RCC panels. The electrical conduits would be incorporated in them.Afterwards slabs would be laid. In fact, civil works are completed in five days to build a flat. The flats would not require external plastering at all.
The homes built under aluminum foam work are not flexible. Incorporating changes in the homes build under this system was ruled out. Similarly, the electrical points cannot be changed in the last minute. The walls also cannot be changed. The whole building would be built using RCC. The building would have the capacity to withstand earth quakes, but the inmates living in structures would feel it very hot especially during summers.
