- A new authority fo the development of the future city
The Telangana Cabinet recently made several key decisions regarding urban development. As anticipated, it has given the green light for the formation of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA). This will include 7 mandals and 56 villages. The government has decided to develop the Future City over nearly 30,000 acres of land between Nagarjunasagar Highway and Srisailam Highway. These 36 villages will be removed from the jurisdiction of HMDA and handed over to FCDA. The Cabinet has approved 90 posts, combining regular and outsourcing positions, to work in this division.
The Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the HMDA jurisdiction up to the Regional Ring Road. This will include 11 districts, 104 mandals, and 1,355 villages. As a result, the HMDA jurisdiction will expand. Due to this recent decision, 332 new revenue villages will be added to the HMDA jurisdiction.
