Hydra says, “we will clear the sludge and bring fresh water”
Until recently, Hydra was going around Hyderabad with bulldozers, but suddenly, its approach has changed. It used to say, ‘We will demolish illegal constructions,’ and made bold statements. Now, Hydra has shifted its focus to desilting lakes and ponds. The same Hydra Chief, who once held press conferences boasting about demolishing illegal houses and providing detailed accounts, is now proudly saying, ‘We have removed silt from the lake beds and brought in water in just four feet.’ The real question is, what is Hydra’s strategy? Why has it shifted from demolition to desilting? This has become a hot topic in the state. Overall, Hydra has moved away from the original strategy outlined by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government. Now, Hydra’s approach has changed – it has shifted from demolishing illegal constructions with bulldozers overnight to focusing on water supply and foundation work.”
