Constructing a house is no easy task. However small a house may be, it would require at least three months to complete it. But, SIDCO built a 12-storey building in just 96 days, to the chagrin of one and all. There are 96 flats in the structure, built under Mission-96 programme. The SIDCO started the construction in Baman Dongri in Navi Mumbai on April 4 and completed the structure on July 9. The SIDCO executed the building L and T’s advanced pre-cast technology.
SIDCO Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Dr SanjayMukerjee said that the precast technology products, made in factory-controlled atmosphere with superior quality, were used in building the structure. It helped complete the structure in less time with less number of workers. In all, 1985 pre-cast elements were used in the 96 flats spread over a plinth area of 64,000 sft. Architectural finishing, mechanical and electrical and plumbing works have been accomplished. Construction digital technology is used to monitor the progress of the structure.
