The Special Court for PMLA at Bhopal asked MD of Distinct Infrastructure Ramakant Vijayavargiya to pay a fine Rs 50,000 and undergo five years in jail for having duped 240 customers on the pretext of selling house plots in Panchavati Enclave in Bhopal. Ramakant consulted some farmers and acquired their land to develop it as residential colony and reached an agreement with them.
But, he did not get any approvals from government and developed illegal layout. Claiming to have DTCP approval to it, he sold 243 plots and collected Rs 16.6 crores. A case was registered as the police saw through his game plan. The PMLA court disposing of the case levied Rs 50,000 fine and five year jail term for Ramakant.
