4 lakh houses to be delivered in a year

The delivery of new homes in the country is progressing at a rapid pace. With government schemes like SWAMIH Fund and increased pressure on developers, the number of home deliveries in the country has increased by 33%.

According to a report by data analytics firm PropEquity, the number of homes delivered across nine major cities in India is expected to increase by 33% to reach 406,889 units in the 2025 financial year. In the remaining eight cities, excluding Delhi, growth ranges from 22% to 88%.

Kolkata leads with an 88% increase, while Mumbai is at the bottom with a 22% increase. In the capital city, Delhi, there was an 8% decline in deliveries. In the 2024 financial year, 306,600 homes were delivered, and the number is expected to rise to 406,889 in 2025.

Kolkata tops the list with an 88% increase, with 9,441 homes delivered in 2024 and 17,718 homes delivered in the 2025 financial year. Hyderabad ranks second with a 61% increase, followed by Chennai with a 49% increase. In Delhi, 48,388 units were delivered in the 2024 financial year, while 44,423 units are expected to be delivered in the 2025 financial year.
