Why show different maps… Is it to panic realty sector?

The opposition claims that Hydra demolitions have already flattened properties worth over a thousand crore rupees. But will it stop here? Doubts are being raised, as the Deputy CM has specifically released a list mentioning the names of some prestigious projects. Will these also be demolished? If that happens, both buyers and builders stand to lose billions of rupees. Who will compensate them? In the past, when Revanth Reddy was in the opposition, he criticised the KCR government for demolitions at Ayyappa Society. But why has Revanth Reddy’s tone changed now that he’s in power? Is it that once in power, he starts twisting his words? Why is the government creating new problems without offering solutions?

In the name of encroachments, and illegalities, the Deputy CM, with detailed latitude and longitude calculations, marked the encroached areas and released a list. He also showed evidence of illegalities using maps from the Telangana Remote Sensing Application Centre – TGRAC. Now, this has created a new confusion. The main issue is the lack of clarity on which maps are being used to identify FTL and buffer zones. There are already a lot of doubts and questions about this. Furthermore, there’s another list with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), separate maps from the Revenue and Irrigation Departments, and a list at the HMDA. District maps are also available. The master plan calculations are different. Instead of aligning all of this into one clear system, people seem to be picking whichever map is most convenient and saying they will demolish based on it. How can this happen? No one seems to understand the rules under which permissions were granted or which rules are being followed for demolitions.

In reality, builders undertaking large constructions and realtors investing in ventures apply for permissions that adhere to the GHMC-HMDA master plan. They need to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Irrigation Department and submit sketches to the Revenue Department. Only when all of these requirements are met can final permissions be granted. After the construction is completed, GHMC officials must thoroughly inspect the buildings to ensure compliance with all regulations. Only then should an Occupancy Certificate (OC) be issued. After going through all these hurdles, obtaining permissions, and paying lakhs of rupees in fees, how correct is it to now say that the buildings constructed fall within the FTL? Moreover, all the projects listed by Bhatti Vikramarka have received RERA and HMDA approvals. People are now complaining that the government of Revanth is behaving this way to intimidate certain individuals.

Former Minister Jagadishwar Reddy, who is challenging to demolish the buildings, seems to have forgotten that it was during their tenure under the Congress government that the permissions were granted for the targeted projects. On the other hand, Bhatti Vikramarka, who gives sermons on sacrifices for the betterment of Hyderabad, is strangely not taking any action against companies that cheat under his own name. For example, a company named Buildox is running a pre-launch business in Kondapur, selling flats for just Rs 4,000 per square feet, and people are rushing to buy them. However, the land in question is a disputed one, and there is an ongoing court case. If there are any issues in the future, Buildox representatives will be safe, but it will be the common people who bought the flats that will suffer. Since the promotion was done under Bhatti Vikramarka’s name, he too could get caught up in the mess. The question remains—why isn’t Bhatti responding to issues related to this project?

Both the previous and current governments are pointing fingers at each other, accusing one another of crimes. But if there were survey numbers for the lakes, why were permissions granted? How were they granted? If permissions were given then, why are they being demolished now? The officials who issued the permissions after receiving bribes are nowhere to be found now. Is there any intention to take action against them? Or will they simply come with bulldozers and demolish the constructions without any further steps? The question remains—who will compensate the victims for their losses? There seems to be no answer coming from any side.
