Warangal-Hanmakonda Cities to Undergo Transformation
Outer-Inner Ring Road for Warangal
Airport Coming to Warangal by Next Year
Warangal’s Real Estate Market to Follow Hyderabad’s Lead
The Revanth government is setting the stage for the development of another twin city in Telangana. The Telangana government has decided to significantly develop infrastructure in the Warangal-Hanmakonda region. In this regard, the Warangal Master Plan 2050, which has been in the works for the past few years, is now finalised. The government has prepared plans for several key infrastructural developments for Warangal city, including an Outer Ring Road, Inner Ring Road, airport, and underground drainage system. As a result, real estate experts predict that Warangal will become the next real estate destination after Hyderabad in Telangana.
Warangal, with its rich historical heritage, has received special attention from the Telangana government for its development. The Master Plan for Warangal, designed with the city’s future needs and a projected population of 2050 in mind, has reached its final stage. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to launch the Warangal Master Plan 2050 soon. On Tuesday, in a review meeting held at the Marrichettnareddy Human Resources Development Institute in Hyderabad, the Development Programs for Warangal and Hanamkonda districts were discussed by Minister for Endowments Konda Surekha, Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Minister’s Advisor V. Narendra Reddy, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with local public representatives and officials.
The meeting focused primarily on several key aspects, including the new Master Plan, Warangal Inner and Outer Ring Roads, development of the Bhadrakali Temple, underground drainage systems, Mega Textile Park, Mamunuru Airport, and Eco-Tourism initiatives.
With the firm determination to develop Warangal city on par with Greater Hyderabad, the Telangana government is moving forward with a special plan for the development of Warangal. After many years of delay, the Revanth government has revived the Warangal Master Plan. As part of this, the government has instructed officials to expedite the development works in the Warangal and Hanamkonda regions.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directed officials to acquire the necessary land for the Inner Ring Road and Outer Ring Road projects on a war footing. The Warangal Outer Ring Road, which spans 41 kilometres, will be implemented in three phases. The plan is to complete 20 kilometres in the first phase, 11 kilometres in the second phase, and the remaining 9 kilometres in the third phase.
The Telangana government has initiated plans to rapidly develop the twin cities of Warangal and Hanamkonda by enhancing their infrastructure. The government has specifically instructed officials to begin the construction of the airport in Warangal as soon as possible and make it accessible to the public within a year.
The airport will be built on a 382-acre site, and the government has also ordered the removal of the silt from the historic Bhadrakali Lake, which is currently obstructing the area where the airport is planned. Officials have been directed to start the necessary works immediately and ensure that the lake is cleared without causing any inconvenience to the public.
In addition to the airport, the government has also emphasized that companies operating in the Mega Textile Park must create job opportunities for local people. Officials have been instructed to initiate the construction of an underground drainage system in Warangal at the earliest.
With these infrastructure developments — such as the Outer Ring Road, Inner Ring Road, Bhadrakali Temple development, underground drainage, and Mamunur Airport—the landscape of Warangal is expected to change significantly. Real estate experts predict that over the next two years, Warangal and Hanamkonda will have a bright future for real estate. Major real estate ventures are already underway in the region, and experts anticipate a boom in construction activities.
The establishment of the Mega Textile Park, along with the setup of several other industries, is expected to bring employment opportunities to the region. This will likely spur both residential and commercial construction, with real estate professionals expressing optimism about the growth prospects. Several construction firms are reportedly in the process of planning new projects, indicating the strong future for real estate in the area.
