Even without an absolutely stacked to the rafters with towering bookcases, bespoke bookshelves and expansive home library setups that could make just about anyone yearn to write — one of the most celebrated screenwriters of our Telugu industry MR. BVS Ravi still has an amazing place to be living at. There is no artwork that’s planned out on the walls but hey? The artwork that we see in his films aren’t the one that allows us to escape to another world in the realms of his uniquely thought set-ups.
Coming back to his own home reminiscent, he gleefully shares with us, “From the time I was born — I am living in my own home. My generational home, to be precise! It’s located in Vijayawada. But then came a time, like any other regular boy, had to move out for my university education and was dependable on rented flats. Even in Hyderabad, I was on rent earlier! It was in 2007, I bought a own house of my own in Hyderabad because was wondering to settle down here. But we never lived there, we rent it out. I have another home to my name— that’s my current haven.” Very contemporary interiors, clean modern lines and a sensitivity for his local tradition is what you’ll see in better known as MACHA RAVI’s home.
He continued, “I don’t bother about lavishness no matter how popular am I in this industry. Cosiness is my comfort zone. An intricate pattern is okay, but I have no unusual interests. There is nothing on my walls, they are empty and I like it that way! There is a piece of lava stone that I have kept, and that’s enough to bring the appealing power to home is what I think to myself. There is the maximum use of wood and traditional stone work in my home. Ultra-ethnicity intensifies where I live. Very frankly, I don’t like anything sumptuous in my life. And, don’t you think I was trying to do cost-cutting, because hilariously it costed me more than I thought of (and, he laughs).”
Wanting to live a simple life away from the hustle bustle of Hyderabad city, let us tell you BVS RAVI’s farmhouse is under construction and, “Farmhouses in Hyderabad are really causing an interest in me. I am not acting like an urban investor, it’s for my own solace with pets and surrounded by nature. A 2BHK even in the middle of a jungle will do. Like any metropolitan dweller, I am constructing a space away from the city’s hustles where I can relax and rejuvenate. My main idea was to relive my childhood memories, the way I was brought up. I have so many pets, they’ll enjoy. And, star gazing! So a typical agricultural setting amidst greenery is what I am trying to construct.”
Always so abutted with celebrities, it was natural for us to ask him about who’s celeb home does he really admires and he spills the beans for us, “Homes of Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Prabhas and Allu Arjun — they have unique spaces. But my most admirable home would be Rana Daggubati’s. Everybody talks about his backyard! Because of its lotus pond. And, what a good host! Rana is the best friend one would love to have in his life. Chic interiors, lush foliage and a city view seals the deal for us to revisit his home.”
The famous dialogue writer also told us, something coming straight from his heart, “Europe, South-east Asia, Dubai, USA, have travelled mostly everywhere but it comes to down to my most favorite’s place to build a dream home at and it’s GOA. To me, GOA is a village! The whole state is a cluster of tiny Portuguese villages if you research about it. Apart from Panjim, or maybe a Vasco De Gama — there is no city life there. I would desperately love to build a dream home there. I’ll be the most happiest in my life, can grab a beer by the beach and write the best screenplays of all time.”
