Addressing the Telangana Builders Green Summit in Novotel on Saturday, The Deputy CM emphasized that the government would implement programs that would not disrupt the work of builders.

He also pledged to take strict action against anyone spreading false propaganda or creating obstacles for developers. Hyderabad as a Green City

Several policy decisions are being implemented to transform Hyderabad into a green city, said the Deputy CM. He noted that cities like Delhi are struggling with severe air pollution, which forces residents to migrate during certain seasons. To prevent Hyderabad from facing similar challenges, the state government is focusing on measures to reduce pollution. One such measure is the phased conversion of diesel vehicles to electric vehicles. The Deputy CM acknowledged that while this shift will result in a loss of some state revenue, the government is prioritizing the health and well-being of Hyderabad’s citizens over financial concerns. He emphasized that the ultimate goal is to make Hyderabad a pollution-free city for the benefit of its residents.

Net Zero City

The state government is also taking proactive steps to address future challenges. One such step is the revival of the Musi River, a significant milestone in the state’s history. Deputy CM Mallu explained that the Musi River had long been a source of pollution, causing hardship for local residents. However, through efforts to clean and restore the river, it is expected to soon become a valuable asset for Hyderabad. Additionally, Mallu shared that the state is on track to meet its ambitious renewable energy targets. The new electricity policy aims to generate 20,000 megawatts of green power by 2029-30, with a further target of 40,000 megawatts by 2035. This underscores the state’s commitment to a sustainable and green future.
