The Indian Society of Landscape Architects in association with the S Jaipal Reddy Foundation of Hyderabad conducted the all-India memorial landscape design contest. Out of the 60 landscape artists who have taken part in the event, Smruti Balvalli was adjudged as the best and her design was adjudged excellent. She was presented a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh. Her design was unveiled at Spoorthistal on Necklace Road in Hyderabad in connection with the 80th birth anniversary of veteran Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy.
Smruti, a veteran of over 10 years in landscaping, works as a visiting faculty member in RV College of Architecture in Bangalore.
