Building your own home does not necessarily mean you need something extravagant according to Grammy award nominated Shilpa Rao. She understand that sometimes, you just want a simple and cozy place to call home. She has a very simple house plan that have all the features and modern amenities she needs and with a simplified design that meets her tastes! “Simplicity works for me perfectly, let’s spend less on the size and more on a close-knit lifestyle with some classy interiors. I want my near and dear ones to keep visiting me. I like to personalize my space just the way I want so that later on I don’t have any regrets. My ideal view of a dream home won’t be a vacation home but a residence always filled with laughter.” In conversation with the popular singer, we learnt that her taste inclines towards a chic architectural style!
Taking us a little deeper into what she prefers, she said, “For me if someone asks at which parcel of land would you like to build your dream home and the preferable entity of it, I will choose a flat any day. Since, I share a really good bond with my husband, we’ll certainly devote some time in building a kitchen garden. We should add more and more green to our lives! Moreover, I’ll only choose the bedroom that has enough view to see. An attached balcony to it will do wonders for me to grow my veggies easily. It brings peace and satisfaction.” Moving away from flat versus independent house, she has clearly chosen a flat for all the needful reasons and that’s how singer Shilpa would like to live her life like. She couldn’t stop gushing about her likes for horticulture! She added, “With so many indoor gardening options, how can one not let their homes be full of plants? My family and I are a massive fan of trending horticulture ideas.
You can grow enormous varieties of microgreens at home with minimal supplies. Decoration should also be as such that visitors also have the urge to spend their maximum time at the sit out area there. I love getting creative with the decor ideas of an indoor garden. Sharing your life stories at a homey space like it becomes much easier.” However, what does she loves to do the maximum whenever she’s not on a singing spree? Well, you’ll see the glorious singer counting her blessings in a fully relaxed mode, while having a sip of coffee and meanwhile the surrounding birds doing what they are best at — chirping. Without wasting any space, she knows how to best make it a smart and relaxed home. Whether she likes contemporary or traditional style, she atleast knows how to encapsulate it all.
Knowing more about her dream home, we get to know, “My profession took me to undiscovered spaces, every place had a tale to tell. From home-stays to luxurious hotels, have seen it all. Wherever my family is around, that should be my home calling. The four main factors to look out in my dream abode would surely be — lucidity, pastel shades, effectuate sunlight and my greens that will add so much more beauty to my dream place.” Leaving the lavish interior designing at a distance, she is cheering for moments that recall her travelling experiences, exemplary decor and walls filled with photographs. Simple and modern, her efficient house will give you an impressive curb appeal and rooms full of delightful surprises. Creating a relaxing vibe is her primary goal! No matter how crowded your city is, she urges every local to maintain an indoor kitchen garden for the betterment of environment and to keep up with the trendy society too.
